partner used to have problem with drugs and his current prescription may be causing problems?

My (28f) partner (30m) used to have a problem with a few different drugs, pain pills but mostly meth. Two years ago I gave him an ultimatum that if he didn't stop in 30 days I was leaving him. I was surprised when he stopped but he hasn't relapsed since then. For context we have been together for about 7 years total. He is prescribed Adderall by his doctor, which doesn't really cause issues except when he runs out (which he usually does a week early each month) he gets super depressed and doesn't talk to me. He also starts sending texts to his old contacts about if any of them can get Adderall until his prescription is filled. This behavior alone really freaks me out because it's basically the same addict behavior as before. He was getting really withdrawn tonight and upset, wouldn't speak to me or get out of bed etc. We have an agreement we can check each other's texts so I did because I wanted to see if he was reaching out for drugs. The usual trying to get a few extra for the week but also he was telling his sister that he wanted to just start doing meth again. I honestly don't know what to do because even if he isn't really looking for meth and just venting this is all not okay for me and I just don't know what to do. Any advice on how to talk to him or what to try would be appreciated. Tldr: partner had a drug problem, currently prescribed Adderall and he acts like an addict when he runs out and I don't know how to proceed submitted by /u/Sadie_1223 [link] [comments]
